“Coordinating weddings is like producing little romantic movies,” declares Ify. “So when I plan a wedding, I play it over and over in my mind like a film to make sure every shot is perfect.” And that in a nutshell is Ify - a hopeless romantic, yet totally focused on the details.

How did it all start?

Ify OtiGraduating with a degree in Business Management, Ify worked for a number of years in Lagos, Nigeria before relocating to London, UK where she joined a FTSE 100 company as a qualified Chartered Secretary.  She soon trained and moved into the IT industry where she managed multi-million pound projects, specializing in Project Management and Quality Assurance.  In between the corporate world and family life, Ify seems to always be planning, executing or hosting some sort of event!  She started an events company in 2004, handling events for mostly friends and families on a part-time basis. Her reputation grew.

Realizing that she had a passion for not just planning events but also delivering beautiful, seamless celebrations, she decided to professionally train in every aspect of an event. Over the years, Ify has trained with some of the best professionals in the industry amongst whom are, Judith Blacklock of Judith Blacklock Flower School, one of the leading Florist in the UK, International Chef, Mark Gautier of Madame Gautier Cookery School, UK Alliance of Wedding Planners. Having built up a database of top of the market vendors in every other category,  Ify is a professional with a gift and power to do the extraordinary. She brings to each of her events the training, education, and experience of a seasoned consultant and coordinator.

As a trained Floral Artist and Designer, Ify has an eye for unique decor, anything a little out of the ordinary catches her eye!  As a trained Chef, she understands the importance of good food and good service.  A trained Event Planner, she can tell you confidently that there is an art to entertaining; great events don’t just happen, all elements have to be masterfully orchestrated! 

Ify Oti is the Event Director and owner of HannahMichael. Her background provides the company with the focus and experience necessary to manage logistically complex events as well as those with an international flavor.
